Get to know the Erasmus plan and the activities 2022-24
The objective of this activity was the first contact of students with the project. The students learnt what having achieved the Accreditation 2022-27 meant and the objectives of the Erasmus plans to carry out during the years of the project. Then, they were also informed about the different activities which would take place during it. To end, they were asked to write their expectations before starting the project , which would be assesed at the end of it so that the students could see if they fulfilled them or even they were more that they expected .
First virtual contact to break the ice

The objective of this activity was that students of the four countries who participated in the project got to know each other before their fist meeting in Berlin. The guest school Tesla Schule with the teacher Tina Ahrendt organised it. They prepared a survival kit so that all the students had a photocopy with questios and tips to start a conversation with unknown people. They were distributed in a class in groups of three students and they started following the survival kit instructions Tina gave them. Students enjoyed the activity and shared their Instagrams with Polish, Serbian and German. It was a good activity to break the ice.

The creation of the logo of the project

Students worked in pairs or groups to create the logo of the project. The Art teacher presented them a photocopy where they read the meaning and the importance of the logo as the mark of the project . Next, they analysed the logo of our last project " Discover And Share Your Identy Mark" and started their design. First, they had to look for information of the Polish, German and Serbian schools on their webpages as well as the countries where they are located. They used computers or drew it.
A jury chose a logo in Elexalde. After that, the Polish logo was the logo which represented the project.
Padlets about Berlin designed before the first mobility in Berlin

This activity took place before students´ first mobility. The objective of this activity was for the students of 3 dbh ( ESO) and for the students who participated in the first mobility discovered Belin before visiting it. They prepared some padlets on different topics of Berlin, geography, parks , Berlin Wall, Berlin monuments, politics . While they were preparing them, they learnt about Berlin, They explained to all the 3 dbh classes so all the students participated of the mobility before doing it and they also opened their minds to another European culture.

The six students who took part in Berlin´s mobility presented their geniallys about what they did and learnt in their experience there. The aim of the activity was to share with all the students from the different mobilities to Warsaw and the mobility to Serbia because all ofthem received students from the three different countries
Being active citizens deciding on sustainable 2030 Galdakao

The objective of this activity was to encourage our students be active citizens taking part in the creation of a more ecofriendly and sustainable 2030 Galdakao. Our students met the major of Galdakao and they shared their ideas with him. They discussed about the different ways to improve the town . They were explained the different projects which would be carried out in the town. They agreed with the different initiatives proposed by the town hall. They thought that it was agood idea to use bicycles and have open areas for young people.
Being a refugee

The objective of this activity is to raise students' awareness on refugees. Democracy in classical Greece is worked in the Community Project subject. Democracy in Greece was a model democracy, but there were also a group of people such as foreigners, slaves and women who were treated apart. Students listen to the story of a refugee ( Ibrahima who had to leave Guinea because of the political conflicts there ) to think on the difficulties refugees had to struggle to arrive in a country different from theirs and what being a refugee involves.

Women´s Rights

The objective of this activity was to make students aware of the importance of women´s right in democracy. Without equality between women and men and without the full participation of women, there is no a full democracy . when women´s right are attacked , the entire society as a whole wins. Our students wrote a manifesto , a big mural and placed some post-its in which they reflected on women´s rights and lack of equality They also wrote some messages in a bottle to a woman who is part of their lives giving thanks . finally, there was a photocall with the motto: Feminism is the alternative ride the purple wave!!!

How do we deal with environment in our school?

The activity was aimed at focusing on the type of actions the school takes related to environment. The students of first of bachiller made a research and got in contact with the eco delegates as well as the responsibles of Agenda 2030 to get information.
There were different groups and decided the typpe of activity they had to work: a mural ,some podcasts, a report which was published in the eTwinning bulletin, some videos and a questionnarie to be shared with all the students of the school. All the information was added to the memory of Agenda 2023 in order to examine and decide which one could be put into practise. All the different works were presented in class.

Participation in EYP European Youth Parliament Regional Selection Conference

The activity consisted of the participation of six students from Elexalde High school in the EYP European Youth Parliament Regional Selection Conferences RSC 2023 in Bilbao . The students were divided into different commissions and they debated on European Youth parliament current issues . Then, they had to agree on a resolution that was presented in the general assembly. The motions for resolution by the Committess were Women´s Rights and Gender Equality ; Industry, Research and Energy; Envirotment, Public Health and Food Safety ; Internal Market and Consumer Protection and Cultute and Education,
Participation in EYP European Youth Parliament National Selection Conference

In this activity one of our students participated in the National Selection Conference in Marbella. She waa selected in the Regional Conference and attended the National one in marbella. She worked during 6 days debating and proposiing solutions to actual problems which concern the European Union. She gathered with students from different regions of Spain as welll as students from some collage of Marbella which study careers such as politics, law and from youngers from Germany, Britain and Hungary . Delegates selected by the jury in the National Selection Conference will have the opportunity to represent Spain in the Internaqtional Session.
Celebration of 17th May 2023 The International Day against LGTBI-phobia

In our project we work on democracy and being active citizens. Therefore, on a day like today The International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia that was celebrated on May 17th 2023,
our students took action to raise awareness among all teachers and the students of our school about the discrimination from which people with sexual preferences suffer.
The activity was also within 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development established by the United Nations Organization, to end once and for all discrimination, which has caused so many social problems to all humanity.
Presentations of 3 ESO and 4 ESO students on democracy and all the different institutions

The students of 4 ESO prepared some presentations which shared with the whole classes. They learnt about the history of democracy, its origins how the Basque Contry Parliament works, local democracy and the European Parliament.
They have shown that in the Basque Country every four years 75 parliament are elected, this process started after the adoption of the statute of Autonomy in 1979. As far as local democracy is concerned, they learnt interesting facts as the year 1979 in which the first democracy elections in Spain took place. Then some presentations were about the European and European Youth Parliament.

During the Basque Country mobility November 2023 all the Basque, Polish, Germand and Italian Erasmus students had a workshop which consisted of creating acrostics on democracy and environment. Firstly , students were given a photocopy to explain to them what an acrostic is and they were given the example of the word Erasmus.
After it, the students were organized in multicultural groups and they discussed about different definitions for both words democracy and environment. They drew the letters of both words. At the end there was an exhibition with all of them and the students voted the first one and there was a winner.
Participation in EYP 9th-11th February November 2024 regional conference

Some of our students from 4 dbh and 1 batx participated in the regional conference of the EYP in Bilbao . They learnt how different motions are discussed in the European Parliament in order to become laws . Our students were organized in different committes . The comittee on environmment, public health and food safety with the topic to bee or not to bee on the steps the EU should follow to protect the pollinators . The one on international market and consumer protection on the measures the EU should take to protect its consumers and companies. The third committee on industry research and energy about the EU implementation of digital technologies. The last one the one on women´s rights and gender equality on the pink tax. One of our students was chosen for the national conference in Valencia 2024
Different activities carried out by Erasmus students from 4th DBH

During the school year from September 2023 to March 2024 the students of Erasmus group carried out some activities about ecological matters. The first activity consisted of a podcast about physical and emotional well-being of teenyaers in general and in our school. The second activity was related to the cleaning of our school. They interviewed the responsible of Agenda 2023 and they also prepared a proffesional resert project with all the results obtained. Finally, a video about Elexalde environmental matters, the type of recycling material students from Elexalde high schoolm carries out.

The Historical Memory of Galdakao: Connecting Past and Future with Students from Italy and Teachers from Romania. The 3rd and 4th-year DBH students carried out this project to showcase and share the memorial history of Galdakao to both the students from Mattei Institute in Italy and the Romanian teachers who are currently participating in a job shadowing program. This activity deepens historical awareness while fostering cultural exchange and strengthening international collaboration
Month 1: Three sessions on historical memory (Iron Belt, women, executions, bombings, Gernika, prisons) + a field trip to key sites. Month 2: Students develop and translate their projects into English (4 sessions).
Month 3: Preparation of a special welcome activity for Italian students and Romanian teachers.

This project invites students to analyze the historical processes of different countries to understand key events of the 20th century. Using keywords, they will research and prepare presentations for their classmates and other participating schools. 1. Research and Presentation: Each group will study a country and its historical events, creating and delivering a presentation. 2. Reflective Letter: After the presentations, they will write a letter to a school from the studied country, sharing reflections on the events and requesting feedback. Examples of countries and topics:
Romania: Warsaw Pact (1955), Nicolae Ceaușescu (1967), Timișoara. Germany: Hitler (World War II), division of Germany (East and West). Poland: World War II, 1952 government, Soviet Union until 1989?, joined the EU in 2004, current situation. Lithuania/Latvia: World War II, part of the Soviet Union until 1991, independence (1991), current situation.

In December, 3rd and 4th DBH students and visiting Romanian teachers took part in an upcycling workshop at Elexalde as part of the student mobility and job shadowing program. The workshop focused on upcycling—transforming discarded materials into creative, functional objects. Participants brought materials like corks, bottle caps, coffee capsules, and twigs. They used these items to create unique picture frames with photos from the mobility experience. The activity promoted recycling and showcased how everyday objects can be repurposed creatively. This workshop combined sustainability, artistic expression, and cultural exchange, aligning with the Erasmus+ program’s values and Elexalde commitment to a greener future.

European parliament 2024-25
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) event brought together students from various schools, including Laxeta, Lauro, Botikazar, the Jesuit schools of Bilbao and Durango, and the English College of Asturias. Students were divided into committees, where they debated and developed resolutions on important political, economic, and social issues currently facing the European Union. This experience provided students with a deeper understanding of European politics while enhancing their public speaking, teamwork, and negotiation skills. Representing Elexalde at the event was a valuable experience that encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and active citizenship among the students . Moreover, we must feel proud about it because one of our participants Andere Royale was chosen for the National Sessions in Barcelona.
