Job Shadowing Elexalde

Elexalde High School hosted a job- shadowing during the week of May 15th to 17th, 2024. Two teachers from the Szkola Podstawowa school in Warsaw ( Poland) had the opportunity to observe the methodology, management, lessons and different project Elexalde High School carries out.
Last year, two teachers from our high school traveled to Poland to the Szkola Podstawowa school (Warsaw) to learn about the Polish system and the methodology the Polish school carries out to implement it in Elexalde school and therefore, to improve its educational quality .
This year in May the Polish school visited us to learn from our school and implemeted in their school . Polish teachers were in our school for five days and they were very intense and interesting learning sessions . During the weekend, one teacher from the English department showed them Urdaibai, Gernika and Bilbao. It was their first approach to the Basque culture and enjoyed with it. In Gernika they visited the Peace museum as a way to get to know the memorial historic of our country.They also tasted delicious Basque food .
During the week from Monday to Friday , they knew our school, the different lessons, the library , the assembly hall and school facilities . They met the headmistress who showed them al the projects the school carries out and it was a chance to reflect on the differences and things in common in both school systems,
They also observed the methodology of projects in the Spanish and English language lessons in different secondary classes At the same time, they were able to see how the subject of English Speaking is worked through debates and in a playful way .
A teacher from the Spanish department explained to them the multidisciplinary project Egypt carried out by the students of the first year of Secondary School in all subjects .
They also learned how to work with students from other countries who join the Basque educational system.
