Some of them went to a museum with balloms in Naples, and they really had a very good time. But they also learnt about Italian way of life as they all ate together and our students tasted Italian food . Both Italian and Basque students started to build a relation and got to know together
Welcome at Istituto Mattei in Caserta.
All the Erasmus group and teachers met at the High School. They were given a warm welcome in the main room. The headmaster delivered a speech and then they put some videos about their region and their culture. Some of these videos were related to the places the students visited.
All the Erasmus students and the teachers had a surprise prepared by different students from the school. As Mattei school is an Art school, the students who learn fashion did a fashion show with the clothes that they created in their classes. It was very entreteining and at the same time it was a first approach to Mattei school and its students .
All the students met at the high school at 8:00. They watched a video about Vesuvius and Pompeii together in the main room. They explained to us some informationabout the history of the volcano. Then, they left school and took the bus. They had a had a guided tour in English of the Vesuvio volcano at 11.00 and they had some free time.
In the afternoon they went to Pompeii and they also had a guided tour in English. It was very interesting because the guide told the students the history of the city and what happened there.
But, it rained a lot during the tour, so it was a bit annoying. However, the day was unique and students loved it.
The Erasmus group and the teachers met at school and watched some introductory videos about the city of Naples. They talked a little bit about it and then Italian students did a tour of Mattei school to visit the different rooms that they have there such as the one of photography and cinema. After it they took the bus to visit Naples.
All the Erasmus and Italian students arrived in Naples around 11:00. They walked around the city and visited different beautiful places such as the port and the main streets. Then, they took a touristic bus and they did a panoramic visit of the city. It was nice because while they were in the bus seeing Naples, they listened to the explanations.
After that, all the Italian and Basque students had some free time to eat and walk around the city. In the afternoon, they met all together again and took the subway to go to another neighbourhood. The Naples subway is very impressive there because there are a lot of artistic productions inside the stations.
The students were so delighted with all they were seeing.

They also visited an alternative district of the city where they could observe many T-shirts of the football club of Naples and the different palyers. They also visited the cathedral of Naples and another important church . After this wonderful visit of Naples, they toik the bus and came back to Caserta to spend their evening with the Italian families.
Now it was time for our students to spend the evening with the Italian students and their families. They did some activities with them and they also tasted the eypical Italian food. Of couse! pizza. There was also a good chance for all of them to share culture and build relations.
All the students met at Mattei high schoo and students did some activities related to democracy. They tried to define the word in groups and talked about it. They also presented the contributions to the rest of the groups.
Then, students created their own T-shirts with the help of a teacher who teaches design at school.
The creation of the T-shirts were related with the topic " Suistainable fashion" and the picture of the T-shirts was the winning slogan from the first day where students in multicultural teams created it.
The result was fantasctic and the students really enjoyed with this activity and took their T-shirts as a souvenir.
When they finished creating their T-shirts, they had a break and went to walk around Mattei high school. They had some free time and then they came back to school. The Italian teachers and the students prepared a lunch with typical Italian food. During the lunch our students were given a some gifts. All the students spoke and sang Italian and Spanish songs. It was very nice.
This was the last evening of our students with the Italian students and their families. They all met together to talk and share their experiences in Italy. Elexalde teachers also met soe teachers and the headmaster in the evening to have dinner with them. They ate pizza and had a great time together.
It was the last day of the journey . All the students were so sad because they had to leave the city. They met at the bus station and said goodbye to all of them. It was very sad for the Italian families and students as well as for our students but all of them promised to keep on getting in touch and shared all their emails and Instgrams .
Caserta mobility was a unique experience for all the Elexalde Erasmus students. They came back to our school with a lot of exciting moments lived in Italy. They also shared with the rest of the Erasmus students who didn´t have the opportunity to travel and they showed their experience in the diiary they did.
